Bringing Him Home!

2/14/2010

Today is Koopa's 1st birthday and I am so proud of my little boy! He is the best and I wanted to share a few reasons why he is wonderful!
1.) He loves Josh and I unconditionally. It does not matter that I smell like a nursing home or that Josh works on Saturdays, he does not hold grudges or withhold his love.

2.) He does these little barks when he is being sweet and it is the highlight of our week when he does them. Its as cute as when he uses his paw to hide his face. :)

3.) He is potty trained to the extreme, allows me to mess with his food, is leash broken, and can dance like a villian. He is 100% the dog I knew he could be!

4.) He lays on my feet just to remind me he is there when I am busy. I love it!

5.) He makes our marriage beyond just us. We are a family and when I call him a furbaby, I completely mean it. He is our first child. I may not have birthed him, but he still has pieces of Josh and I in him and it means the world to have him in our home and lives.

So, now that my baby is a year old, I guess he will have to be my furchild.

Happy Birthday Koopa Boopa!

Where have we been?

It's been a very long time since our last post so it's definitely time for an update.
1.) We now have home internet!

2.) We both still have jobs, which is a tremendous blessing for this day in time. This means that Koopa still gets a new toy everytime we go to the 'boro.

3.) Josh went to Colorado for a week for a big father/son fishing trip and Koopa and mommy survived the week all by ourselves and never once went to G.G.'s house.

4.) I went to FL with my mom 4th of July weekend and the boys made it without me there. Very reassuring since my DI (dietetics internship) is coming up soon.

5.) We got Netflix and have not looked back. :) Koopa likes when we watch Ah! Real Monsters.

6.) Koopa has learned to swim and is tearing the local creeks and rivers up!

7.) Koopa is even more consistent with his potty training. The only accidents he has are at my mother-in-law's house. (Which I think are because we either get off schedule there or because he plays so hard he doesn't realize he has to go until it's too late.)

8.) Koopa is a very different puppy than the one we got in February. He is much more social and playful. I say by January, he will be 110% instead of the 99.9% he is right now. Although, if he doesn't improve in his tiny faults, it's okay. We love him way too much as it is.

True Love

So, Koopa and I are hanging out at Mom's, waiting on the food to come off the grill and I just thought I would share how loyal my little man is.

Last night, instead of playing 2k10 with his daddy, Koopa endured watching me crochet and waited while I watched Twilight. Josh doesn't even love me that much. Haha.

I hope my future biological kids love me half as much as my furbaby does now.

So, to update all the Koopa lovers out there, Koopa in the past few weeks has:
1.) Begun losing his baby teeth
2.) Mastered the leash
3.) Begun to hold his bladder through the night
4.) Learned to jump on the couch
5.) And, become the hero of the Farmers Market

Look for updates about our lives, which revolve around a beautiful son, oops. I mean puppy.
